We’ve been swapping out the summer annuals for fall themed planters with various ornamental grasses, coral bell, chrysanthemums and more. In about a month we’ll be moving on to holiday arrangements. Contact us for some container garden design ideas.
Consider Native Plants For The Garden
Incorporating native shrubs in your landscape design offers numerous benefits aside from their beauty, including improved biodiversity, lower maintenance, and enhanced resilience. Native shrubs also provide food and shelter for birds, pollinators, beneficial insects and other wildlife. They’re well-adapted to local climate and soil conditions, requiring less water and fertilizer when compared to non-native species. Additionally, native shrubs help prevent erosion, improve soil health, and contribute to a more sustainable landscape.

Had a few unplanted perennials and ornamental grasses left over at the end of the season so I “planted” the pots in my raised beds and will find homes for these flowers in some landscape designs in the spring.

Mid-Summer Vibes
Started some hard to find annuals (a least in terms of colors) for a few upcoming flower bed installations. If this works out, I may need to invest in a greenhouse.
Herb Gardens
Planting an herb garden brings nature and culinary exploration right to your doorstep. Creating an herb garden begins with selecting a suitable location with ample sunlight. We often will try to choose spots adjacent to a patio or just outside the kitchen door. Next, we choose a variety of herbs that thrive in your climate and suit your culinary preferences, from classic staples like basil and rosemary to more exotic options like lemongrass and Thai basil. Though some herbs, like basil, need to planted each season as they won’t survive the winter cold, others such as mint and oregano return year after year. With patience and proper care, your herb garden will flourish, offering an abundant harvest of fresh herbs to enhance your cooking and add fragrance and beauty to your garden design.
